Helen S. Watling (nee Sykes), age 91 of Mt. Washington, passed away peacefully,
January 28, 2019 at Hyde Park Health Center. She was the loving wife of the late
Wesley A. Watling (2008), beloved mother of Bryan, Kim and Christopher (Mary),
and the late Wesley (1959), dear sister of the late William Sykes, Ann Warren
(Roland), Donald Sykes (Virginia), Alice Killion (Frank), Margaret McGourty (Joe),
Ruth Laderman (Arvid), dear grandmother to Christopher and Marqui Watling,
as well as aunt to several nieces and nephews. Helen was born in Cape Cod,
Massachusetts and loved the beach. Family summer vacations were spent on the
Cape. Helen and Wes met in Worcester Massachusetts and moved to Cincinnati in
1953. Helen’s love of the visual and performing arts reflected her colorful and creative
lifestyle. Helen particularly loved Frank Sinatra, and supported local musicians (including

A Memorial service will be held at T.P. White & Sons Funeral Home, 2050 Beechmont
Ave., Mt. Washington, on Saturday, February 16th at 4 pm where friends may visit from
3 to 4 pm.
