Robert F. Kurfis, known to friends as "Kurf," passed away January 26, 2019 at the age of 95 years. A Cleveland native, Kurf married Marion (nee Lorenz) Kurfis on June 19, 1950. Together they raised three children. Kurf held a degree in Business Administration from Baldwin-Wallace University, and served as a naval aviator in the U S Navy during WW II from 1942-1945 attaining the rank of Lieutenant. After working with Blare Construction for 25 years, Kurf and Marion retired to Bonita Springs, Florida in 1997. A charismatic leader, Kurf volunteered and participated in numerous social organizations. Preceding him in death are his father, Lee, his mother, Helen, his son Robert (Christine), and his sister Jean Griffin. He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Marion, children William (Kathleen McConaughy) Kurfis and Heidi (Lawrence) Kramer, seven grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. Military graveside services to be held Friday, February 8 at 2:00 pm at Western Reserve National Cemetery, 10175 Rawiga Rd, Seville, OH 44273.
